as a highjumper there are certain things that can offset some of the worst fears an athlete can encounter such as;
the heavy dream-couldnt barely get off the ground
the awkward landing- landing on the bar (ouch!)
the 30th "run through"- cant bring yourself to jump
but the worst of all has to be the lonely mat.
i've not highjumped since late may, and not competitively since early may. as a highjumper i fear that i will lose the natural motions of the thechnique. training is cool and i understand that i need to adjust to college athletics but like a tru jumper "all i want to do is jump.
