Everyday must be different

college is a trip....and very unlike highschool (to say the least) however; if you're not careful it can become monotnous. i have a schedule just like everyone else...but i consciously dont remember it because i dont want to get into a system. Everyday must be different. This is key.

a highjumper's fear

as a highjumper there are certain things that can offset some of the worst fears an athlete can encounter such as;

the heavy dream-couldnt barely get off the ground

the awkward landing- landing on the bar (ouch!)

the 30th "run through"- cant bring yourself to jump

but the worst of all has to be the lonely mat.

i've not highjumped since late may, and not competitively since early may. as a highjumper i fear that i will lose the natural motions of the thechnique. training is cool and i understand that i need to adjust to college athletics but like a tru jumper "all i want to do is jump.

damn college life is a lot different from what you've been told it was your whole life, unfortunately i can not explain it, or give you an "insider's peek" this is one of those things you just gotta find out for yourself...........start here

Mt. Sac

One of the best experiences of my Track and Field carreer was the Mt. Sac Relays. I qualified my junior year but since it was at the end of the year i had to wait until '09 to compete. I got to experience Track and Field at a whole different level. Not only was this a National meet but the colleges and professionals competed the same weekend. As an athlete and a student of the sport i was humbled by being able to meet some of my favorite runners and some of the members of the world class team, along with many other cool people. Strong Black Woman You Are: Lauryn Hill

Lauryn hill.......

One of the most intelligent and beautiful minds i've EVER encounterd. So much of me is her. For me to say that i have been influenced by this woman would be a terrible understatement. Her prespective on life is so positive.... The statement "she's changed my life" is not suffice subjective to ms. Lauryn Hill.
